                                                     English Heritage 'Heritage Open Days'

                       Saturday / Sunday 11th / 12th September 10am - 4pm 

                                 'The Demolition of the Stainmore Route'

Once again, we are pleased to report that we will be participating in the English Heritage 'Heritage Open Days' programme. This year, the theme of our display will be 'The Demolition of the Stainmore route' and it will feature a large selection (approx. 50) of John Birkbeck's haunting photographs of the track, viaducts and associated structures being removed following closure in January 1962. 

Car Parking and admission will be free. The Picnic Areas, Station Shop and Buffet Car (serving hot and cold refreshments) will also be open.
