    • Details of how to apply for these grants can be found on the following link: HLF website

    • Monies from EDC enabled a Feasibility Study to be undertaken, publicity leaflets to be produced and also provided funding for our inaugural Steam Rally at KSE
  • Cumbria County Council
    • The grants funded the following works at KSE: building the platform extension and new door, repairing the Gable End at both ends of the 'Darlington' trainshed, our new shop and monies towards the 'Stainmore 150' event.
  • North West Regional Development Agency
    • This agency has recently been disbanded, but provided funds for the removal of some 7,500 tonnes of fly-tipped materials that was on the site when it was purchased the railway project. This work was a prerequisite to Planning Permission being granted for us to formally open the KSE site to the public.
  • Cumbria Waste Management Environment Trust
    • Funds from CWMET were used to build our picnic area, the  platform extension and to repair the Gable End at the western end of the 'Darlington' trainshed.

    • The Paper Company helped fund our car park which had to be completed before we could open to the public.
  • Local Businesses
  • Cumbria Community Foundation - The Holehird Trust
    • We were able to install a disabled access ramp at the eastern end of the station thanks to monies from the Holehird Trust.
